 “La Colfranculana”
appears as an original product of culture. It was considered,
in the early Seventies, a commitment rediscovering the real
juvenile and local culture.
The association was born in a small village
named Colfrancui, in the neighbourhood of
Treviso; it is from that village that La Colfranculana
takes its origins.
The founders found
themselves in front of an
innovated view of sport linked to social events that, as the years go, had
to fight against a lot of difficulties searching to adapt their wishes to
things they are.
The hystorical unit of the association is composed by a group (since 1974)
dealing with walking march and cross-country race. For almost 20 years, in
the whole North of Italy, there is a weekly partecipation for not
competitive walking races.
Every year, on the last Sunday of May, in Colfrancui (a small village in
the neighbohood of Oderzo) it is organized the popular “LA
COLFRANCULANA” a not
competitive race covering distances from 5 to 42 km;
almost 2000 people take part to this race.
La Colfranculana is considered one of the most beautiful race in Italy,
both as partecipation and organization.
With passing of time, La Colfranculana has extended its action from the
walking races to the cross-country race, creating the cross-country race
of Mutera (Mutera is an hillock).
During the winter the activity concerning cross-country race is very very
good: athletic preparators, instructions dealing with technique
cross-country race, trainings for both beginners and players.
Then we can go on with partecipation to National and Local cross-coutry
races, ending with the “fought Social cross-coutry race”.
In summertime, the players devote themselves to skyroll both for training
for Winter season and also to take part to races.
The Skiroll division of S.S.R La Colfranculana-Sci Fondo La Mutera, was
set up in 1982. The first years were entirely dedicated
to the organization of races,
competitive and not competitive. it was the first division in Italy that
linked a walking race to a skiroll one (Colfrancui di Oderzo 1978) and
also the first in organizing the Campionato Italiano Granfondo di Skiroll
(Oderzo 1982-1983-1984-1985-1986).
Not a lot of years ago it was also born
a department dedicated to football, named, naturally Colfrancui Calcio; we
have to remind that, thanks to ‘La Colfranculana” some clubs were
founded; the most popular among them is the Colfrancui Tennis.
